Zimbabwe Cheetah Riaan O’Neill was born in Harare and moved to Capetown, South Africa where he attended Wynberg Boys High School alongside Dylan Sage of the Blitzboks. “Reezy”, as he is known to colleagues, went to Sharks and played U19 and U21 with twins Jean-Luc and Dan du Preez. Riaan also played for College Rovers in Durban before moving back to play for Falsebay in Capetown, South Africa where the team won the National Club Championship in 2017. O’Neill was introduced to the sport by his Dad, who is a former rugby player. Riaan currently works for an international sportswear company.
