ROUND six of the Harare Province Under-21 league kicks off on Saturday the 9th of March at Alexandra Sports Club and Belgravia Sports Club as all eyes are set on the top gong this year.
Old Georgians top group B with two more matches to play, the Groombridge based side boasts of players such as Jeremiah Jaravaza and Christopher Duffield who have been at the forefront of their victories.
They are away to third placed Alexandra Sports Club while defending champions the Pitbulls play XP Horns at Belgravia Sports Club.
With two weeks remaining before the seeded semi-finals on the 23rd of March, Old Georgians Under-21 coach Gordon Pangeti is upbeat about prospects of getting a place in the final, if they beat rivals Old Hararians Sports Club.
“We have been playing very well as our structures and team cohesion is getting better as well.
“As you are aware of, OH [Old Hararians] are our perennial rivals and sometimes tact and skill go out of the way when it is a derby.
“Our objective is to stay calm and to continue to play well, do the business this weekend because it will be a first real test for us.
“We look forward to OH and getting top seeding before the semifinal and the final,” said Pangeti.
Meanwhile the Pitbulls remain flawless in this season as they look to continue the momentum all the way to the cup final.
“We are very excited about the 2019 season so far, it is great that we have managed to stay unbeaten but it is also good that we have managed to get better in certain areas.
“We have still got some areas of concern because a big part of our squad is new and hey take time to get accustomed to our systems especially individual goals.
“There are two more games left, XP Horns will be an exciting game. I know there is talk about possibly playing against the Old Georgians or OH in the finals but that is really not our concern right now. Our concern is to finish strong and better,” said Pitbulls Coach Bob Mahari.
